gender inequality in china
It seems that through out the recent years gender inequality was finally
noticed and steps were being taken to try and stop it but even in the recent
efforts, it still seems to persist. It was believed many years ago that having a
boy was a blessing but if you could not have a boy then you were basically a
disgrace to the family. Some people were so embarrassed that instead of keeping
there baby girl they would just kill it or abandon it. Recently studies have
shown that even in the population in china there is an astounding amount more of
boys then girls and that over half the population would not be able to get
married because there were not enough girls. Some Americans though have recently
tried to help these abandoned babies by adopting them or getting them over to
the U.S.
Not only is this causing a weird fluctuating population but it is also
causing crime spikes such as women murder and kidnappings for unwilling
marriages. Not only are these women being taken but they are being sold for
money by their own families themselves willing or not. China has now been
setting up support groups to teach the people about how women and men are equal
work and value wise. The woman in china that are kept are now having problem
finding jobs because the employers were taught that men get the job the better
and faster way.
Women in China are starting to make a statement and are starting to work
their way up in the social class system and get better jobs and some even
getting to the top of huge corporations and companies. There is being more and
more small businesses being seen, owned by women it is a warming site to know
that not all the women are being treated unjustly but one day Chinas government
said that the hope to stop inequality fully.
Despite all the women still struggling this lop-sided battle we have not
lost hope that one day everyone in China will believe women can do everything
just the same as men and that they are just as valuable. China can not do this
alone though so the have small charities set up to support the cause and there
are other ways of helping such as adopting or becoming a foster mother . They
really need our help...
